Commissions
I find commission work challenging and rewarding. If you are thinking about a commission, here are a few things to keep in mind.
For watercolor commissions I have a minimum size requirement: 22” x 30”, this size sells at $600.00. Oil painting commissions are required to be 3’ x 3’, this size is $750. Larger sizes and multiple painting commissions are welcome.
I also accept Master Card and Visa if you want to finance your painting. If you prefer cash you can pay for your painting in three equal payments.
A commission generally takes four to six weeks depending upon my workload. Halfway through the creating process , I like to show you where I am heading with your commissioned piece to make sure I am heading in the right direction.
If you are unhappy with the results, the paintings are mine. If you are happy with the end result, I can ship your painting upon receipt of payment.
Framing is also available for your painting, I have a brilliant framer. I use Metropolitan Frame Company, 387 Corona [at 4th Avenue], Denver, CO 303.350.4766.
Shipping In the event your painting needs to be shipped, there will be an extra charge for packing and shipping costs. I can give an estimate of these costs if you would like. Out of state orders are tax exempt.
Please contact me, for a home or office consultation, we then can discuss format , color choices and other details.
I have had several commissions for private homes, a coffee table book honoring the new millennium “ La Danza Cosmica ” by Martin Huerta, awards for The Leukemia Lymphoma Association's; ” Boy and Girl of the Year “ award, the Cystic Fibrosis Gala , wedding gifts and so on...
The images on the following pages are examples of some of the commission work I have done.
Enjoy!

La Danza
Oil on Canvas
70" x 59"
private collection Toulouse, Spain
I was commissioned to do this large oil painting for a book while living in Lo Barnechea Chile, a suburb of Santiago. The author, Martin Huerta commissioned 50 artists to join the project and paired each painting with a poem, quote or short story. The exhibit traveled around Chile for a year and rang in the new millennium in Valle del Elqui.
The author reviewed my artwork before he extended the invitation to join the project. I was asked to join under the condition that I do a large oil instead of my typical water media on paper work. It was quite a challenge as I had never done anything conceptual or this large. I hired a studio to accommodate the large canvas and worked with artist Marilyn Marshall on developing the content and some basic oil techniques.
La Danza began to take shape and I felt rather comfortable painting in oils although it was very time consuming, four months from start until finish. The painting was well received and sold before I finished it! I used some very old oil paints and equipment that I inherited from my grandmother Eva ,who also painted, after her death. Perhaps this had something to do with the success of the painting or even the invitation to join the project.
